Another Great Networking Breakfast

Posted by Salem Global on Apr 20, 2007

Our dear SalemGlobal (www.salemglobal.com) friends, as we prepare to move offices in Bryant Park our last Networking Breakfast was held in our West 45th Street office.  We had a great group of folks from Credit Card Processors to Debt Collectors to our new client, Bill Gilbert of AHS (http://www.ahsrcm.com/).  It was great to meet Bill, just take a look at his bio:

William Gilbert, Vice President Marketing
Mr. Gilbert has extensive experience growing high-tech organizations by building and expanding customer focus. At AHS, he is responsible for all aspects of marketing and product management.  Until recently, Bill served as Vice President, Business Development for Vibrant Solutions, a provider of Business Intelligence analytics. Previously, he was a Partner at the Venture Consulting Group, a management consultancy helping high-tech companies grow. Earlier, he worked for AT&T, leading customer focused start-up initiatives, product development, and product management for business customers in the US and internationally.  Mr. Gilbert has attended advanced executive programs at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and the Brookings Institute and has Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Iowa State University.

And take a look at the great picture of Raphi Salem and Bill.

HOW TECHNOLOGY CAN TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Posted by Salem Global on Apr 19, 2007

North Jersey Speakers

Washington Mutual Breakfast Series has just appointed CEO Raphi Salem as a speaker.  Look for him June 1st!

SPEAKER Raphi Salem

Raphi is currently the CEO of SalemGlobal Internet (www.salemglobal.com). Since 1997, his firm has marketed, consulted on and produced over 300 websites and blogs for companies, corporations and non-profits of all sizes. Raphi is also the founder of JewishWeb.com, a portal for the Jewish community, JudaicaStore.com, an ecommerce store within the niche, MarketingDirectories.com, an online industry-specific web directory, and The Seminar Series, a monthly lecture and workshop series where he speaks and teaches business people how to get more out of their websites. During his career in technology and website marketing, Raphi has provided solutions for American Express Publishing, Reader’s Digest, David’s Cookies, The Jewish Week of New York, and The Jewish Telegraphic Agency (amongst many others whom you have not heard of). Raphi conducts seminars and speaks regularly to national organizations about website optimization and internet marketing.

Past speaking engagements have been with the National Resume Writers Association, American Jewish Press Association, Queens College and Baruch College. Prior to starting his own company, Raphi was a marketing manager for OLiVR Corporation, purchased by LivePicture Inc. during the summer of 1997. Raphi graduated from Queens College/CUNY with a BA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and with a minor in communications, media and advertising. After internships at BBDO Advertising and NBC Television, Raphi worked for Cable Networks, Inc. a subsidiary of Cablevision. From his experience in NY, Raphi moved to Israel to become the Sales Manager for CNN International through a representative firm called Direct Satellite Television. Raphi has served in the Israel Defense Forces as an Academic Officer and an Assistant Organizational Psychologist.

A five-time NYC marathon finisher, Raphi would like to believe he is still currently writing his first book paralleling the marathon running community and the Jewish community. He has pretty much stopped trying to break into the world of stand up comedy and entertainment, especially after he was rejected from the cast of Donald Trump’s Apprentice. Finally, he does like to remember that he has an idea for a children’s educational character that will rival Sesame Street, Big Bird and Elmo.

Portaga introduces TripSyncâ„¢

Posted by Salem Global on Apr 17, 2007

Portaga, the web services company, has recently introduced TripSync™, for business travelers. It’s a free travel tool that simplifies, organizes and synchronizes the entire business travel process for one or multiple travelers directly through Microsoft® Outlook.  Small and medium-sized businesses are reclaiming control over their travel as TripSync empowers businesses, individual travelers or their assistants to book, change and manage all aspects of their trip within a single screen.   TripSync is a   free Web 2.0 application that can be accessed at www.tripsync.com or by downloading the TripSync button into Outlook and Internet Explorer toolbars. TripSync integrates and synchs “live data” itineraries into Outlook so flight, rental cars and restaurant reservations are accessible and changeable, anytime, anywhere. To make a change to an itinerary, it’s as simple as drag, drop and go.  Business travelers can also automatically notify other travelers of itinerary changes with just one click, right from their calendar.

While most online travel tools today are either geared for leisure or corporate travelers, TripSync is the first tool designed with the small business traveler in mind. TripSync’s advanced interface provides business travelers with breakthrough features that naturally complement the way business people travel and work:

Integrated Travel Scheduling: TripSync allows users to easily organize travel for one traveler, or the whole company, to any number of destinations, all through a single Outlook interface. They can book, confirm, synchronize and notify all travelers as easily as setting up a meeting.

Book and Hold: The challenges of coordinating schedules and getting approvals for business travel for one or multiple people are alleviated as TripSync users can reserve flight, hotel and car reservations for up to 24 hours and “lock-in” reservations while they confirm and coordinate travel plans.

PDA Synchronization: TripSync not only synchs travel plans with Blackberry®, Treo® or any web-based, Windows device, but now travelers can change travel plans with a simple drag and drop.

Registration liberation: Travelers can register and create profiles as an individual, group or company to make booking and tracking trip expenses even easier.

Great Low Prices: TripSync accesses the same extensive inventory of flights, hotels and rental cars found on other travel sites such as Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity. Travelers get the lowest available prices, best availability and even tie into special deals and packages available only from Portaga and its partners.

24/7 Support: TripSync puts a knowledgeable travel professional at the users’ fingertips, 24 hours a day when they need them the most. TripSync is designed to meet the needs of the “unmanaged” business traveler – a $9.2 billion market comprised largely of small and medium sized enterprises. Forrester Research estimates that roughly 60% of the nation’s business travelers are unmanaged and create their itineraries most often via online sites or through leisure travel agents or by contacting travel suppliers directly. With TripSync, small and mid-sized businesses benefit by dramatically reducing the time, resources and personnel needed to book, change and manage travel.

For more information about TripSync and how to get it, go to www.tripsync.com.

Elem Group, Fridays and 1000 Domains - oh my!

Posted by Salem Global on Apr 13, 2007

Salem Global Internet Website Marketing, otherwise known as SalemGlobal, is approaching the 1000 mark in the number of domanis we own and manage. We found out yesterday at the Search Engine Strategies, http://searchenginestrategies, that this an amazing asset to have.  From automotive, health care, real estate and publishing we are growing, we are REALLY growing and that is a great feeling to have.Friday is fun time in the SalemGlobal office, because it’s usually empty.

It is usually the one day we have to reflect on how much work we didn’t get done in the office the other 4 days.  But Raphi Salem, Dov Weinstock and I all had a great confrence call today.  It started at 2:45, and as always we said “JUST 15 minutes NO more, NO less” - I hung up the phone at 3:20, ah well, but we were productive! Lastly, I want to thank Oren Heiman of Shiboleth, www.shiboleth.com, for having myself and Raphi last night for an amazing event to raise money for a great cause, Elem, www.elem.org.  I was actually the photographer, you can see the pictures here: http://foto.michaelfindling.com/thumbnails.php?album=54.

There were some great people there, including Benjamin Krasner from the Israeli Consulate, see below for a great shot of some great lookin guys!
