SalemGlobal and the UJA-Federation
Posted by Edan Shertzer on Dec 11, 2008
This morning, SalemGlobal’s Dov Weinstock conducted a couple of web 2.0 training sessions at the UJA-Federation of New York. The sessions — one for beginners, the other for more advanced users — provided a comprehensive introduction to the various web 2.0 tools (blogs, social networking services, wikis, etc.) that a non-profit can use to identify interested parties and establish ongoing communications with them. Gaining visibility online can yield great dividends, especially for a non-profit, but it does take a little bit of know-how to do right (i.e. quickly and cheaply). We hope that Dov’s seminar will help the UJA get the word out about the important work they do.

My Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad, Bike Riding in Jerusalem, Israel
Posted by Salem Global on Nov 7, 2007
So the Alyn Hospital Bike Ride from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is over but our work out continues. Amazing how we have been able to ride up to Yad Kennedy from Baka at 5 am and get back before 7am to get the kids (and wives) ready for school. But as one of my friends says “Raphi - you don’t ride at 5…you ride at 5:15!†(I am consistenly 10-15 minutes late and end up NOT catching up to the guys. But 50% of the time I do enjoy getting there relatively on time.
But this post is not about me this time. It’s about one of my friend’s fathers. He has to be AT LEAST 60 years old and he is kicking our butts up the hills. But wait, there’s more. He doesn’t have padded spandex lycra biking shorts. He doesn’t have a water bottle. He has a basket on the back of his bike. And, wait for it, he wears SOCKS AND SANDALS instead of sneakers or clip on bike shoes and he doesn’t use straps.
So now that I am in the mode of being jealous of the creator of facebook, lets just say that when I am 60, I will be able to beat the young 37 year olds up the hills of Jerusalem. I am glad I am starting now because in another 23 years WATCH OUT!!!
SalemGlobal featured speaker at AITP-LI
Posted by raphi.salem on Oct 24, 2007
On Tuesday, Dov Weinstock (pres. of SalemGlobal) was a featured speaker at the monthly lunch meeting of the Long Island Chapter of AITP, an Information Technology professionals’ education group. The topic was “What’s New in Web Technologies”, and Dov was on a panel of four speakers. The others discussed XHTML, Virtual Machines, and Marketing - of course Dov’s presentation was about Internet Marketing. The presentation got some great feedback from the crowd.
Thanks to Ken Mole and Barbara Viola for arranging the event and for the invitation. We will be contributing a quarterly piece to the AITP-LI newsletter, and possibly going back in 2008 for a more in-depth presentation of SEO/SEM.
