Wednesday April 16, 2008 marked the first annual Caring Dinner of the Leslie Munzer Neurological Institute of Long Island (LMNI). Held at the elegant Westbury Manor, the event attracted close to 200 attendees. A special award was presented to Robert Munzer for his generosity and support. SalemGlobal Internet, the online marketing consultant, was a sponsor of the event.
LMNI was established to advance the understanding and knowledge of the nervous system and related neurological disorders, improve the quality of life of those affected by the diseases, provide education and outreach both to patients and physicians, fund research in the neurosciences, and help purchase necessary equipment so that Long Island hospitals have cutting edge technology available for the Long Island community.
Caring Awards were presented to: Jerry Scotto of Westbury Manor, John Kominicki of the Long Island Business News, Garry Schwall of the Heart Institute at Winthrop University Hospital, Raymond Damadian, MD of FONAR and the inventor of MRI; I. Melbourne Greenberg, MD, Founder of Neurological Surgery, PC and inventor of Greenberg Retractor; and Access Home Health Care.
The dinner, and dancing to music provided by City Lights, were thoroughly enjoyed by the supporters who attended the dinner.
